Vauxhall Corsa or Renault Clio's seem to be popular for first time drivers. Though some people have said Corsas seem alot bigger inside which can be intimidating for first time drivers. Both are good on insurance aswell, hope this helped.

Cars like Kia, Hyundai are normally the type of cars that are cheap in price & you can get a pretty good car. Nice too. I have a Kia Sorento & it wasn't too expensive. You can always look at used cars but make sure you get a background check on a used car. Some people find problems after buying a used car.
Fiestas and corsas are simple first cars cos they cheap to buy and cheap to insure. Though if you want a little bit more a nice clio is a perfect car because if your lucky to pick up a rt model it will have toys like power steering, electric windows/mirrors, fog lights and alloys (basic standard ones)
i'd go for the Fiesta ST. it's a 2 litre engine and the insurance companies will hammer you but worth every penny ;)
focus focus focus.
they are gorgeousssssssss!!!!!!!!!
Hatchback:I'd go for a cheap version of a Renault Clio
Saloon(Or w/e):The Mondeo(Old or new) is a good choice because it is pretty reliable and has pretty good features.
So, yeah...Second car i'd get is something like A Mitty Evo :D
clio there good
