Its because of the society we live in. As far as homophobia goes.

"You gay, you must be a loser...because you're gay, go do a guy" is extremely innapropriate and should be infracted under rudeness.


"I am uncomfortable with gay people" is not necessarily an attack on someone, and technically is a statement of opinion. While I don't agree with it, I have no right to suppress the opinion of another.

Racism has been blown out of proportion due to extreme racism in the past, therefore we are much more sensitive to it now. If we began burning homosexuals and having mass shootings of homosexuals (yes, I am aware of how terrible that is, and hope it never comes to that) then 20 years down the road, I'm fairly certain that "I am uncomfortable with gay people" would become an offensive statement. Its all about the historical context.

I for one do not believe in a man shall marry another man or even have a relationship with another man yet I nor anyone really else on this forum is taking this matter over the top, as a gay man yourself, you really don't need to go around telling everyone ''IM GAY LETS HAVE A ****'' because thats completely imature, you've expressed your gayness like its a achievement. and do not in no way put homophobic to racism because you have no idea on what the black men and women and children were put through on the days of slavery and freedom of expression towards mixed race.

Can we not get into that argument? Though, I believe the gays are persecuted to some extent.
