Thanks for your positive imput, JRH. :)
Sadly that not possible but that is a nice suggestion.
I understand the problem and we will try and see what we can do about it but we need to be able to monitor the reputation system and crack down on pointless repping. It was getting so out of hand at least now its much more settled down since people don't want to waste their 5 reps a day.
One thing you could try is only giving posts to very good posts that really deserve it (such as big detailed helpful posts or good tutorials). That is what we really want people to be using the system for instead of things you generally agree with.
I don't know if you can, but maybe do like 10 reps a day and spreading to people number less if you're a VIP, so like a new feature.
to be honest I only give it out if it's worth it, so no change for me.
and I don't get given any because I turned it off, it's a lot free-er :)
When it comes to repping someone that you owe it to.. people don't care about wasting the 5 a day. It's just way more of a hassle then their needs to be and like it's been said, the GOOD posts aren't even getting the rep they deserve because people are 'worried of wasting the 5' as you say.
Thanks for agreeing to look into it. Everybody is different though and what might be a really good post to one person is perhaps not to another. I am quite stingy with rep but feel it it particuarly important to reward newer members who maybe are younger and not so articulate but who will be the active articulate senior members of the future when we have left. Its good investment in the future of Habbox.
I don't see why the rep system needs to be heavily guarded, it's alot of effort for one thing which doesn't really need it... If people are unhappy about rep, they'll report it. It's unnecessary work for staff. Also, shouldn't the Forum Manager do the rep stuff, considering his job (self-explanatory) is to manage the forum?
