Habbox Forum is in it's 6th year of service and we've had a filter since the beginning.
It's never been a problem, there is no need for swearing at all, it is dirty and gives off very bad impressions.
I just don't see why people want to swear when a post can be displayed in a more attractive, intelligent manner when written properly without profanity?
Everything here in bold I agree with. Its been fine for 6 years, and hopefully, it will be fine for 6 more years to come. Sure there are some things in the filter that could do with tweaking, me matt and garion had a go at trying to remove some things recently.
I don't agree with the rest (if anyone cares), but thats all subject to opinion anyway so not everyone will agree.
I don't know if this is still the case, but in the past I have seen mods advising people to preview posts when they've been unsure whether certain words were allowed, to check if they had been filtered before publishing. But this idea would mean that someone could easily post a rude or offensive word which hasn't been filtered but is still against the rules without even realising it.
You've suggested this before, a few months ago and nvr said it couldn't be done. Mentor's post here explains why:

Also my view is that mature users need not swear, it is only tantrum throwing children that need to curse at someone with all names under the sun.
I thought you were against the idea! :P
What I meant was; say for example, the 'F' word had been forgotten when they were filtering words and someone with the filter turned off typed it in a post, for example; 'I'm ******* bored', they would never realise the word hadn't actually been filtered to everyone else.
