If you have events staff ABLE to do events during the schooling/college/university times, you should probably try and take the opportunity. You are accomodating for the current users of Habbox but not thinking of bringing new users in. I am pretty sure, that most of the events I tried to get into for this year's Summer Spectacular were already full by established members of the Habbox Community. Then, the room will be filled by some already-at-habbox people and then some newer people that we can force (A) into registering on the forum.

But comparing any of them to HabboxForum, I know which one is for the more mature & older user. It's just a matter of when they grow up, theyll come to us. I mean HxSS is awesome and events like that, but the userbase is more sensible here. Call it a bad thing, but meh... Seems to have worked well the past 6 years.

Hmm that doesn't tell me that they keep their members longer. You are just supposing they do. Habbox is a pretty active forum and it is not all about posting. Take MissAlice for example she posts when she feels there is something to say - doesn't mean she is less a valuable member. That's what I like about Habbox. People can browse, post when they want to and generally enjoy without the forum being spammed up ( well most of the time, anyway:P). The numbers on the forum every day is pretty respectable. Why try to fix something that isn't broken? Yes occasionally it might need a bit of maintenance and a few tweaks here and there but it doesn't deserve the constant negativity some members try to portray it is.Quote:

HxSS is something on a different level, nearly 200 events, two weeks and a lot of time, effort and dedication from virtually every member of Habbox Staff in one form or the other. I for one know that toward the last few days of HxSS, it became a lot more trouble to ensure things were running to the schedule and on time. If we were to do things such as HxSS all too often, staff enthusiasm in helping out would wane and the events themselves would flop. Secondly, as has already been said, you'd be devaluing not only HxSS but each successive event over and over.
However, we do recognise the need for bigger events, and this will be happening.
What I should say, before I get onto forum member sign ups and retention, is that the focus for us is not only HxF. It is Habbox.com and HabboxLive, too. I think when this topic comes up, which it does regularly, the other sites are far too neglected. No single site should take precedent. What we need to be doing is looking at methods to improve traffic to all three sites, and if someone is attracted to Habbox.com it is likely they will at some point be attracted to the radio, the forum or both.
With this in mind, we have Habbox V6 up and coming and the behind the scenes work on this is gradually increasing in momentum. Furthermore, the recent week of giveaways and so forth saw a large increase in HabboxLive listeners that they have very easily retained. To continue this improved Habbo presence, we are, as I said above, planning future endeavours on the client.
I do feel it's also necessary to point out that in recent weeks / months, the Habbox presence on Habbo has improved significantly as reflected in the fact that we have seen an increase in posting and I am spotting a considerable amount of newer members popping up. As part of our plans to increase the retention of these members, the Welcome Committee has been brought into place and this is beginning to work extremely effectively. On the whole I don't think we are posed with the same problems we were having just a few months ago, things are improving significantly from my perspective. Nevertheless, we are not about to get complacent and we will continue in our efforts to attract and retain new members to all three Habbox sites.
Sorry I haven't read the full thread but isn't there a lot of events and stuff for the Christmas Bonanza or is that not done anymore?
It was said that big events were good but keep the originality, obviously you can't do anything on the scope of the SS but if I remember the larger scale events happen almost every two months.
August - Summer Spectacular
October - Halloween Stuff
December - Christmas Bonanza
February - Usually something is organized for half terms
April - Easter Eggstravaganza
June - Often something is done surrounding the Habbox Anniversary, but not always
That works out to exactly every two months (I promise, that's how it was planned :P) We're spoiled with events and don't even know it!
Of course Halloween and half terms (and anniversary when it happens) are typically smaller scale but they're in between bigger events.
PS: As far as HxSS nearly every senior staff member involved has some sort of stress breakdown and takes time off to cope, it literally is an all out dash where they just try to make it to the end of the spectacular without falling over :P I hear only one heart attack a year is healthy.
