Well that depends on what arguments are being put forth, but largely homophobia doesn't exist and is used to smear those who disagree with homosexuality. I'm not saying I agree with all of these arguments, just that if people want to discuss both sides properly then they should do so rather than label the opposition to homosexuality as having some sort of irrational fear towards it.

But then you could bring something else in ie HIV for example. The point i'm making is that to label opposition to something as a phobia is ridiculous and childish. I don't want this country for example to become islamic based upon good grounds, that doesn't make me islamophobic.

The same applies to somebody who does not want their son to be gay because they disapprove of homosexuality.

I think he is entitled to his opinions as is the OP. Why should anybody be labelled because of the music they listen too. It's their choice.

It's likely that he isn't Gay. It's possible that he wants to be gay because he thinks it's cool and he's 'rebelling' - so at any given opportunity he tells people that he's gay.

Because of the nanny society that we are turning into and trying to make it "ok" for 2 men to sleep with eachother, more young men are experementing with it. Some now think it's alright and perfectly normal to do things with other men so do it for the attention (like it's the new trend) or just to experiment. As already said, they are usually just confused but if it was like it used to be were being gay was frowned upon by everyone then they wouldn't even be in that postion to be confused anyway as the thought of loving or doing anything with another man wouldn't of even come across their mind.

I have not yet seen a reason backed up with (Reliable) evidence for being against / afraid of homosexuals (Which doesn't apply to the majority). Whilst I agree that people are far too often are labelled with having an irrational fear of it whilst merely stating a fact on it

Some people just think that homosexuality is wrong and goes against what we are as humans, they don't need to provide reasons, it's just their opinion.

I don't know what I find more stupid, the way he thinks he can't listen to those artists because he's gay, or the way you think there is such thing as "real music". And that you listed Britney Spears as one of them. :L

Sexuality and music tastes do not go hand in hand with each other. It just so happens that a large amount of gay people are camp, and they tend to like music like Gaga, Britney, Madonna etc... Obviously it's not a fact that is applied 100% of the time, but the majority do. It's true.

I'd call it moronic on both sides. He can listen to what he likes, and you have no right to say otherwise or tell him who he should listen to, and he needs to stop categorising his sexuality and music taste together.

The term is incorrect and you would have a hard time finding someone who is actually afraid of gay people, I don't know where it originates from but it has stuck and won't change. It's used in the wrong context for what it should mean, but it has adapted it's own meaning now and is just an easier way of labeling someone who hates gays. I don't know why it's that much of a big deal, everyone knows what is meant by it when it's said.

Hes 15, probs has never had something in his... he doesnt know if hes gay or not imo.
