It's probably because you had a dummy until you were 4. I was the same and now I'm a ' 1337 ' nail biter. I cant stop, it's habit. I also pick my gums, which is unhygenic.

I bite my nails alot.. usually down to being nervous, i dont really have any intention to stop either.
