Speed can still be a factor if there was a mechanical fault... I mean, if there's a mechanical fault with a car, you're only going to die if the car is going too fast. If your brakes fail at 10mph, generally, you're going to be okay. There's no proof that the driver was at fault yet.

The F&F series made skylines, supras, rx7s etc much more popular than they would have been if it wasn't for the series. PW stands out because in the movies he was the Japanese enthusiast as well as genuinely being a big fan of Japanese cars irl.
