some djs dont bother getting backing, they choose to just talk over songs
Its quite annoying when they have an instrumental for when they talk aswell. I have to turn up my sound and like concentrate to hear them, which i dont want to. And then turn it down when they play music. And a lot of DJs seem to do that.
a loud instrumental and quiet mic might i add.
i love the songs djs play but then wen i try enjoy it they talk over it and its like stop f------ talking over the song
Just the other hour one DJ was advertising Kazopark all the way through the songs!
Most the listeners are only on the site because it's on Habbox.com.
The main site needs a make over (Which so I'v heard, is on the way). Hxl also isn't the most prettiest site either.
I think more needs to be done on the actual main site, since you can advertise "habbox.com" but you can't advertise "habboxlive.com".
oh dear, this dj needs some new slogans. how can you guys not find this entertaining! :D
edit: and he's 15, obviously blows the age argument out of the water. age doesn't matter!
what is he talking about :( one thing is most djs talk about things they dont have to like one said "this is a backing track"
it clearly wasnt... it was a song which he used as a backing track because he cant be bothered to make a proper one :P
although as it has no words it does work :P
ive just tuned in, and the first thing i heard is: 'next ima put on some *didnt understand what he said*. um yeh um... *pause* its like um kinda rock um... so yeh... *pause*
---
why does 'habboxlive.com' keep coming up in the middle of the songs? im sure thats not part of them.. :P
im gonna have one last go at the current dj, he just takes everything he says a bit too far... he was talking for about 30seconds into the start of a song... this is just awful. if hes gonna put on a song we should at least be able to hear it.
[/rant]
Well I just heard some pingo music so I'm happy. :D
I think some of the points here are valid, but I do feel as if some of it is a little over critical. I think the vast majority of the Hxl team do an excellent job of delivering music/humour to us. Nobody can be 100% perfect, and I certainly don't find too many serious problems with the HxL team at all. Perhaps a few slight reminders to some DJ's that they need backing tracks, or a set of solid rules which need to be followed, but with a huge department like HxL where the staffing team changes so often, I can understand how hard it would be to get everyone up to that high standard that everyone expects. Big kudos to the team from me anyway, The Dj's always sound happy and as if they are having a good time, which reflects off onto the listeners also. We have to remember a vast majority of the target audience are Habbo players, and those who are doing the pogo mogo in rooms and generally I think quite a lot of the audience range are young. It would be nice to perhaps do a poll or something to guage what the average Habbox listener is like. I'm 19, but I still find it to be a very good radio, with some very talented DJ's.
some are very talented yes, but some just make me want to turn habbox off immediately. which, for what its worth, is what i do :P
during the queen song he just went onnnn andddd onnnnnnnnn aaaannnnnddddd ooooooonnnnnnnn
'This *pause* is *pause* Queen *pause* [Yes we know its said after 'Current Song'] So turn up your speakers *pause* and rave *pause*
by now ive missed half the song ;l
The other day, one of the DJs were playing Edward Maya - Stereo Love...
I got so pissed off I sent in a request of; "Get off air pls x"
Like seriously, she was talking through ALL of ti, I requested it, and then she talks ALL the way through the song, and it actually finishes before she stops talking, I then request her to play it again, she's like...
'I just played that... so -Pause for 30 seconds through another song- Yeah......"
:/ She was talking for like 4 mins.
Seriously getting annoyed by Dynamix now.
During Kings of Leon he ruined the intro, then put 'habboxlive.com' randomly in the middle, then talked in the outro (so he ruined the two most important parts to a song)
What a joke.
there is no need to target him like that
its hard to enjoy the good music wen everyones talking over it
i was just using him as an example because, a) hes on air now, and b) i dont tune in much anymore
im not saying that dynamix is the worst, or that hes the only one, but he (obviously) would be the freshest memory of a bad performance because he was djing at the time.
and dont get me wrong, he dj'd a lot better than i would.
OK well i'm very sorry if i ruined the song. but by having a guy say 1 word during a song really upsets you? then what really is the limit? I don't think i have done anything wrong today and don't respect anybody who is going to be so picky.
i agree that the backing thing is annoying & talking over tracks will be addressed by jess no doubt, but i don't think dynamix should be attacked like the way he has just been. he was struggling with listeners due to a technical fault, and i feel his energy level despite having a low number of listeners & a lack-lustre dj party was good!
he's ONLY a trialist DJ, i don't think some people are giving people the chances they deserve.
people have to learn.
targetting individuals is harsh ;l
Im not trying to target him at all, obviously as I don't tune in much anymore, it would be fair for me to comment on other djs about the subject of 'bad performances' because recently, nothing else springs to mind. Unfortunately he just happened to be the dj I was tuned into at the time, and so he is obviously the one that I'm going to use as an example..
I realise how hard djing might be, and as I said I could do no better, but (yet again) I didn't enjoy his show at all.
I don't want to stop people from giving feedback regarding HabboxLive. But please could you not target individuals in this thread. If you have an issue with one of the DJ's on what they have done in one of their shows, then use the correct channels. If it carries on then this thread will probably close.
Sorry for double post if it is, I'm on an iPod touch quoting as an edit is hard :l
and I didn't know he was a trialist, as I said the habbox staff list won't work for me...
For a trialist it wasn't bad at all, and obviously if he learns from his mistakes I'm sure he'll turn out to be a good dj.
I'll say it again, I wasn't trying to single dynamix out at all, and knowing now that he is a trialist changes my view on his performance somewhat
Dude you cannot say i'm not going to do well. I have never had a single complaint before and this is my 6th year of DJing. I have come to habbox to entertain people as i have done in the past. If you dont like me, thats your problem not mine because i get hundreds of people compliment me and only a few picky people like you who try and put us down. Give us all a break because just moaning wont get you anywhere in life.
I don't understand why people are targeting certain age groups for DJs.
Sure, there has been a serious influx of younger DJs, and some people may think that they are inexperienced because of that.
In some cases, it's quite the opposite. There are plenty of younger DJs at the ages of thirteen and twelve that are very well experienced, and they are very good at what they do. When I started DJing, I pretty much had no idea what I was doing. I'll admit it. I was a noob. But I'd like to think now that I've gotten much better in my DJing.
You can't just expect people that are 17-19 to be DJs. The general age group for people on habbo are 11-16 years old. Which is the general age of the DJs at HabboxLive. And you can't expect people to be perfect all the time. People make mistakes, albeit there has been a lot more than usual, but you really have to consider that there are a lot of new people coming to HxL. It just takes a little while for people to improve.
Yes I'll admit there's problems, and we're trying to solve them. But attacking certain DJs gets us nowhere.
Also with this things of talking over songs. It doesn't even happen so much in the middle of the songs. Normally just the outro's so, it's not like they decide to have a chat in the middle of the lyrics. And this backing track thing people are complaining about. I actually looked at the comments and laughed. If they don't have a backing track it just sounds boring and it's pretty rare that the the soundtrack is louder than the mic.
