That is kinda of in place at the moment, I believe cautioned members can't view and there by post in the spam forum. This makes more sense to me, As if we ever needed to ban a member from a particular forum then It must already be a pretty serious situation in the first place. Which would atleast require the user to be placed on a caution or ban.
Although I believe this feature Is coded so that the option is only available for Super Moderators and Forum Administrators, I do wish I would see abit more faith in you for our Forum Moderators. I guess you have had a bad run in with one or a few of the Moderation staff, We all make mistakes dude. Especially when some of the Moderators are still on trial or have just finished their trial period in the weeks past.
As for this feature, I'm for it. Although I'm not sure it's entirely nessercery in some aspects for me. Just seems abit weird I guess, Maybe It will settle in abit more when and if it's implemented.
I am not saying that forum moderators shouldnt be allowed this because I hate them. Its for security. Also because super mods have way more experience so they would hopefully be able to judge who needs to be banned from a thread better.
Also, you might have trialists going around banning everyone.
Sorry let me clarify. Users would not be able to ban people from their own thread. This would be a moderation tool, only usable by Super Mods and Moderators (perhaps only Super Mods).
Users would not be given this tool, so they can't use it to simply quell the opinion of another. (S)Mods would use it to curb rulebreaking.
Well then they will face sanctions on those accounts I guess. As it will only be a small percentage of forum members who react in this way I assume this would be considered avoiding a moderators actions which as I'm sure you know is an infractionable offense and in this case both accounts in applicable would likely see further punishment, Much more severe that a thread ban I'm sure.
