It's not a joke, perhaps people can't be bothered with with all the makes of cat food companies out there so just say cat food..

Whatever hamsters eat, I guess. Seeds, nuts etc - whatever brand.

Occasionally as a treat, I give my hamsters mealworms. Dead ones of course.
