Plane Journeys

I don't care, as long as there aren't many people on the plane, so that I find an empty row of seats in the middle to sleep on like a bed :D.

I love flying. To take your mind off anything, just watch a movie, play some games on your phone, maybe even take a nap. Just remember that there are more car crashes fatalities than plane crashes. Though I must admit I was on a plane once and one engine shut down, and we had quite a rough landing.

Anyway, i'm going to Munich in a week. 10 hour flight. Gonna be fun! :D

What makes the plane do this? People try to explain it to me to make me feel better (Im a nervous flyer) but its often explained so much better when it comes from someone who knows what they are talking about :)


The weird thing is I dont really like flying, but I'm interested in airlines and the amount of power certain planes have, especially Boeing 747s. Its the best feeling when they fully start the engines and you speed down the runway. I'd love that throttle on my car lol.

As I'm sure you're aware, the aircraft needs to generate lift for it to stay in the air. This lift is generated by pressure differences between the upper and lower surface of the wing (Not the fact that air just runs over the wing like some people try to make out). Basically, in these pockets of air, the pressure differences between the surfaces is upset and so the wing can't generate enough lift to keep the aircraft airborne and so it drops to a level where there is sufficient lift. There have been cases where an aircraft can fall a few thousand feet but generally they always regain the lift.

I don't mind flying but I really hate flying over the sea :/

This has happend on every single flight i have been on and ive been on about 40+ since i was about 8 + it scares me each time & my stomach drops and i think we are going to drop :{



Is it supposed to happen every flight? =[

It's not SUPPOSED to happen. It's not like they plan for it to happen. It just depends on the conditions at the time of the flight. Turbulence and air pockets are regular occurrences.

It's alright if we crash as long as we take some people on the ground with us :P

I love flying, especially landing & taking off.

I don't like taking off, but once were up I'm fine :D
