It's not like you're going to do anything if they leave their name anyway. Do you want them to leave their address too?

I hope he just gets in and casually drives away without even noticing anything...

Seriously, some vans are often alright in snow/ice because they are designed to drive around muddy working sites.

Also the fact you have enough time to decorate his van in snow and take photos of it suggests you have enough time on your hands to clear the snow once again when he'd moved.
