It's already been answered for you but yeah, under UserCP there's normally a box giving you the option to turn off the falling snow. Same goes for Habbox.com too (or so there used to be).

These literally look so ugly in my opinion - I really don't like alternating colours unless they're v similar like Christmas

If we're able to have gradients then perhaps have one from near white to grey to look like a mountain with snow on top.
