We have that feature at the top of Habbox.com. Unless there is a plugin for the forum that does something like that, it wont be coming to the forum.
I have seen a similar thing at the bottom of HFFM before but I've never personally liked it.
Looks like charlie's got her wires crossed about Nick's 'big project.' He's talking about the event, not getting moderators to post Charlie :P
there's this but habbox doesn't need it, already have new posts/activity page.
there's also a block in vb's built in sidebar but it's not active, would just annoy people and again, don't need it.
The forum does definitely need a spruce up. I personally think that all stickied thread / tutorials / rules should either be announcements at the top of the forum or created by Forum God. It just adds a bit of continuity over the entire forum and you also don't get the problem of it looking like random users have posted threads about rules once a member of staff has left. For instance, one of the posts linked to previously was posted by Scott/Dinasaw and Leah made a post in it. It looks like two members just posted in the forum and their thread got stuck.
As for debates, I don't think there is a great need for a debates leader either. Or if you do wan't to keep the role, why not make it a 30/31 day tenure and have it swapped around all the time. That way people will post their own debates about different topics, that way things may not become so stale, provoke some excitement around the forum and get people posting. You can say that people can do this anyway, but people can win prizes from the official debates. It would be nice to see different debates from silly things like 'Has Kim Kardashian had plastic surgery?' or 'Should the monarchy be dissolved?'... just as examples.
Has anyone anything else they would like to express? I've gotten a good start on everything that was brought up today :)
I think it would be worth giving members warning if someone's going to take the sites offline as then they know not to do anything too important for it to go down half way through. I understand it's not always possible, but it could be ideal.
