Good anime to watch,

Oh yeah, that's her name - Kobayashi! Not Kawashima. I meant Kobayashi's brother earlier, not Kawashima's.

The manga does a lot more on Yamazaki, Kawashima and Kobayashi's brother, and a little more on Kobayashi as well. What they did with Kobayshi's brother in the anime didn't really make sense. She forgot to feed him since she was too busy, he grew hungry, so he went out and got a job. Wa-la, he's no longer a hikikomori. That was hard. :S Oh well, it was still good. Seeing him ride by on a bike left me with a happy feeling.

I still think a kiss would have been out of place, even in that scene. Both characters have serious mental problems and I'm sure both don't know how to handle a romantic situation. The relationship is expressed through words at the end just before Satou jumps off the cliff if I remember correctly. I think that has quite a charm to it. I'm sure you'll be a lot more satisfied with the manga ending though. The second half of the anime focuses heavily on the realtionship, but the manga constantly, but very, very subtly builds it up throughout all the way up to the great conclusion.

It is. :P It's known as Kamen Rider in Japan and they're crazy about it.

I just rewatched the first two episodes. :8 I remember quite a lot but it all seems so new. Probably because there isn't really any other anime like Welcome to the NHK. But oh my god, Daisuke Sakaguchi voices Yamazaki!? It must have been ages ago since I first saw this, I didn't even remember despite him being one of my favourite voice actors! What a perfect choice though. He's great as Yamazaki.

I will be reading the manga tonight, :) I have just read volume one and it seems really good, :) Btw I didn't notice about the names :o :P In the anime Kashiwa was not addressed by her name anyway, she was most of the time called senpai.

What I really liked about the anime is the soundtrack, I mean after the episodes it did get a bit repetitive to hear the same songs, but they are great songs that go with the mood that it is. The voice acting was really good as well, when looking for pictures I heard a tiny bit of the dubbed version and it didn't sound TOO bad, but still I would rather watch the Japanese :)

By the way I thought the Masked Rider was amazing back in the day! :D

The manga is more or less the same as the anime for the first four volumes with a few minor changes, it starts to change drastically in volume five.

I downloaded the soundtrack when I first watched the series. I was instantly taken in, it's amazing. As you say, it does get a bit repetitive after a while though. The song you posted is my second favourite, my first favourite is this one. I love the second ending song as well (here). If I remember correctly it's sung by Misaki's voice actress.

Satou's voice is done by Chris Patton in the dub. I haven't heard it, but he undoubtedly has talent, unlike 97% of other dubbers. Aparrently he used to be a recluse as well so he could relate to Satou's character. I'm not a fan of dubs so I will probably never watch it, but Chris Patton was probably the best choice for Satou.

I never watched it myself, but it's referenced endlessly in so many anime and manga that I found myself finally looking into it while back. :P
