Yeah exactly what I was thinking, they have been there for hours on end putting their life at risk to try and contain the radiation but bam, that happens.

It must be said about nuclear energy though, that its something like more people die per year working on gas and oil rigs/fields than have died in the history of nuclear energy, which stretches back to around 50 years ago. The figures are along the lines of that, you'd have to check for more on it. (I know there's also a stat for wind turbines, which are more dangerous than nuclear energy). I think nuclear is seen as more of a danger simply because its scary, I know when I read about Chernobyl I still get chills sent down my spine as nuclear/radioactivity is strangely scary.
It must be terrible obviously and that part of the world has had a terrible year (Japan with quake and flooding, New Zealand with quake and Australia with fires and flooding) - but it goes to show the immense power of nature and just how weak and temporary man and his creations are.
R.I.P. to all those who have lost their lives.
IS it true Justin Beiber donated a million dollars?
How creepy is this: I know its mixed formats but the numbers, weird coincidence :p
USA lost many lives on 9-11-01
Now, Japan has lost more lives on 3-10-11
Add the 2 dates together and you'll get 12-21-12
The discussion continues now that we're back. The latest concern is the containment of the nuclear power plants, there has been problem after problem and now the aim is to avoid any radiation leakage.
my asian girlfriend broke up with me today....

Poor Japan, they haven't had a very good history with radiation. I've seen yanks all over the internet celebrating, saying the Japanese deserved it, that it was karma for Pearl Harbour and 'revenge' because God is 'on their side'. What miserable *****. They seem to forget they bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki and killed more than 200,000 and thousands more some weeks, months and even years later due to radiation. If this is karma for what the Japanese did, I can't even imagine what is coming to America. Some people just have no damn respect.
If he did he's just gone up a notch in my book.
A terrorist attack and a natural disaster have nothing in common except people died - which happens every day. So no, it's not creepy, just coincidental.
RIP to those who lost their lives, awful thing to happen and with the nuclear meltdown as well (is it actually a melt-down yet?) things just getting worse - but these things happen.
