Sorry to bring this thread up again, but I just heard about this today.

Do you know how stupid Alaska is (The people in government anyway)? They hire people to shoot wolves, so that the moose population will rise. They want the moose population to rise to attract hunters (Tourists/vacation:money for the state) to shoot the moose. So they basicly pay people to shoot something so that something else can grow bigger and be shot.

Yep and with Seals. People can pay like £200 to shoot a seal as a sport. Its sick.

Its very sick. I saw a video on the news a while ago, the seals were like screaming at the people.
They go for their hides, so organisations like Greenpeace mark the hides so they're worthless.
