How do domains work? i mean, how do they make them? They cant just type it to the nameserver and *poof* its there, or they'd get them free! And if they pay somebody else, how do they get them?
Im confuzzled. :s :P:D

you could buy them very cheaply from namecheap :)
He didnt ask that!
I dont know. :?
When purchasing you choose to direct to you name server for example on js-host the name server is ns1.js-host.com
then within the next 2 hours the domain is registered woola ;D
Nick, what dan said, I didn't ask "how to get one" I'm not that thick!
I know it goes on a DNS Ip or something, but wouldnt that be FREE to do? Unless it was for the PC... that had to be on 24/7... I am more confused :P
I AM NOT ASKING THAT CALL, I WANT TO KNOW HOW IT WORKS, WHERE DOES THE REGISTAR GET IT FROM?
Hey,
www.coolwhois.com try that and it will tell you what name servers the domain is under (thats if its registered)
Good luck!
