Honestly..it takes hard work, but if u really want to merchant, Omgk is right. Go to like the arrow shop in varrock. go to a vacant one. go into the shop and there should be like 600 arrows of your choice for like (not sure...i remember it was cheap though I only bought bronze, iron and steel) anyway. buy like all the 600 then go to a diff world and do the same thing. You will make nice profit in the end when u go to world 1 and sell them for like double what you bought.
here is another option, though this might take a bit longer...
buy flax at 100 each
spin into bowstrings
sell for 150+
easilly 50k profit per 1k flax spun AND you get crafting xp =]
