Who doesn't? I talk to my dog saying scary things like "Who's a lovely tub of fat? You are, yes you!" as if I was talking to a fat baby. That was to my dog by the way :P

He makes this like growley noise but its not growling its like.

My brothers girlfriend's cocker spaniel does that. She was treated like a baby though, and kinda gargles back when you talk to her, cuddler her etc.

I wouldn't say she was spoilt, just treated differently :P It seems all spaniels are odd. My friend has one who is affraid of a bin and anything moving quickly.

I did, I used to have a pet rat & she was really nice. Like a friend in a way. :)
