If 1.999999 = 2 then it would be 2 surely?

I don't think it does.
At what point does it become 2? Would you say that 1.9 is 2? I hope not.
Is this because 1/3= 0.333 2/3= 0.666 3/3= 0.999 but 3/3= 1
