Some changes are needed.

HabboxForum used to be a great forum when it started and it was around this time last year too. I think what the forum needs is an older and a better General Manager. It is the General Manager who is really incharge of Habbox as sierk doesn't really deal with the day to day running of the site.
Having a General Manager who listens to the members makes a good forum. I think our current General Manager should be fired. I think joshuar or jrsh2002 would make General Manager.

Members here seem to get very annoyed as their opinions are just ignored. This causes many arguments between staff and members.

So to sum it all up, we need a better General Manager, with some common sense and someone who isn't arrogant. It seems the General Manager is allowed to be rude to others, but when others call him arrogant or selfish, he bans them.

Mad lacks communication skills and starts being rude or goes against anyone who is rude to him. If you proove him wrong, he just quotes the T&C that he can do what he wants.

Btw, this isn't a complaint. I want other peoples opinion on this so please don't move this thread.

I am sure ---MAD--- is the best General Manager that we could hope for, and I feel very lucky with him. I think there will be some changes on the forum in the coming weeks. We have always been very tolerant to letting people post their complaints and opinions on how the forum is run, but we feel now we have let it go to far. Compared with other forums we are allowing much more, on a lot of forums people who complain about the admins get banned right away.
We will probably be quicker with giving users a permanent ban who we feel have a negative attitude all the time, and only use this forum to complain, start arguments or advertise other forums, in other words are just looking for trouble all the time.

Other forums let their users give feedback from the very beginning because that we, the forum is run the way the users want it to be run - thus, the users being happy from the start and not disrupted like this. On other forums, the members get a say in changes to the forum because if the users don't like it, the forum looses mmbers.

To be honest, this forum doesn't exactly seem much different than the other forums you were talking about. If you don't want people to complain, it is best to listen to them. MAD is an OK General Manager, but he could be better. His role depends on good communication skills with the general forum public, and this is something he is failing to do and this is one of the consequences; alot of unhappy people posting complaints in the only forum that they can complain to, and because he hasn't communicated with good, honest answers (if he has communicated with people), you get more and more until people get fed up and spam the place, which is very annoying and is the wrong way around making a complaint.

As people have said, something has completely collapsed in the way Habbox Forum is handled, and it needs sorting. I would noew give a huge ramble about new systems being put into place, new catagories etc, but that would just be an essay when all you just need to do is, simply, talk to the public and have a neutral view on both sides of the story. Which you just did sierk, which is good :)
There needs to be a 'just' system put into place too, with dealing with members. The Cautioned Member Group is there for a reason. Dump people in there and discuss, in private, there needs and concerns.

good post gomme, perm banning people just for voicing a complaint seems a cowardly way to go about it. If people get so frustrated they need to spam the place then that is apretty big hint something isn't right.

Say ClubHabboForum which gets over 300members a day- If you complain a few times or badmouth an admin then you are permed full stop. Habbox are very good about this but in my opinion need to clamp down. If theres a user which complains so much surely he wont mind being permed as he doesnt need to visit habboxforum if he thinks it is so bad.

If you got frustrated why would you need to spam? It is just going to make management ignore you because you would act like an immature little spammer. Perm Banning for a complaint happens on other forums I can garantuee you. Name one succecful Habbo forum (Apart from HxF atm) who doesnt punish/ban members who causing a rucus with loads of complaints. As I said above if they hate it much then they wont want to stick around.

I don't think your grasping the point. You do not get banned or punished in anyway for stating you opinion, providing that you do not do it in a rude or inappropriate way. There is a big difference between stating your opinion in a mature and acceptable way and stating your opinion in a way that could offend others or is rude and immature. People who post their feedback and opinions without being rude or breaking the forum rules will be listened to and their feedback will not be removed. As for permanent banning for members who spam forums with advertisements and are generally causing disruption this will also be treat with a permanent ban so that we can stop people from filling the forums up with advertisements and ruining the experience for other members.

We never punish you for stating your opinion, you are only ever punished for being rude or breaking the forum rules. At the moment far too many people are stating their opinion in a rude and rule breaking way with is leading to problems - this is precisely why we will be clamping down on it as at the moment the situation in regards to some members behaviour is becoming ridiculous. From my perspective for whoever says ---MAD--- is an awful General Manger I believe you are mistaken. I'm all for free speech and listening to ideas and doing what is best for the members but it requires members not to break rules and simply to behave as maturely as they can. :) I apologise if I seem all "against" the members here but I do really want what is best for the members but I don't think firing the General Manager is exactly going to solve the problem? I think the issue is as much the behaviour or certain people as it is the staff. I think things need to be sorted out in a mature way not "OMG lets fire the guy in charge!".

Took a while to read that long essay with squinted eyes ;) but I 110percent agree with you. If you compare MAD to management on other sites/forums you will see that he is spectacular.

And No I am no I am not brown nosing. It is simply my opinion which I am entitled to.

And maybe thats why other forums aren't as successful as Habbox? Because people coem here knowing this place is generally full of equality within the community and everyone is entitled to openly express their opinion.

I understand people may be advertising other forums or rude and stuff - so fair enough ban them. But if people are able to make a well structured and informative post then I see no reason why they should be banned just because they may be criticising your work...

In my opinion this forum has went down hill a lot and it is no longer a place of democracy and free speech. Sierk has made it clear that we are nwo goign to have to watch what we all say as basically if you speak bad of their work we wioll be banned quicker - erm great management mate...

I agree that MAD Has brought a lot to Habbox and there is no denying he is a hard worker. However, he enforces rules upon this community which are unwanted and unnecessary. I do not understand why he has often felt the need to bring in rules which the public clearly do not want (with 4 out of 5 users rejecting the reputation changes).

Finally - if you are going to bring in changed for us then I hope they might actually begin to start applying to yourselves. The past few days I have questioned continuously why admins have been exempt from this 'brilliant new rep change' which they proposed and am yet to be given any form of an answer.

I agree the reputation fiasco we a bit pathetic with banners and Habbo riots :rolleyes:

And that people who spam are idiots and ruin it for the rest of us who like to complain a lot, and infact serve no purpose but to give management more reasons to get annoyed.

But MAD's biggest problem is that he doesn't come across as very friendly, he talks down to you with very, almost robotic phrases, that don't come across with the right feeling. If MAD talked to us a little bit more like people, as opposed to forum members (yes I know we are) he probably would recieve less abuse.

Another good post as ever, and yes the petty rules are very annoying. it's nice and well being friendly and mature, but if we want to have a laugh and joke around on a teen forum pretty much we should be allowed, just add something to the ToS that says you accept there may be things you don't want. Or add an older members forum, perhaps remove some others as I think there are too many with too few members to be perfectly honest.
