District 9.

Watched it for the first time. Love the story line :D

I've never seen it, what's it about? :)

It's really good, the story was captivating. The one thing which irks me about it was that even though the story was so great, the last third of the film is dominated by a huge robot gunfight sequence. It's as if the story is sidelined in favour of an unnecessary spaghetti western style robot shootout which is a shame since it's such a moving story. I can understand, partly, why they put it in though since the film was based on a short film based within the district 9 'universe' which was essentially a gunfight between earth nationals and a prawn in a combat suit (IIRC).

Essentially an alien spaceship entered earth's atmosphere and stopped over South Africa. Eventually humans went into the ship to investigate and found hundreds of aliens living in squalor. The aliens were then taken off the ship and put into special refugee camps where they are treated as inferior. I won't say more without spoiling it, but the protagonist is a south african official who works within the refugee camp, the eponymous 'District 9' as the story unfolds!

Definitely worth a watch :)

one of the weirdest films I ever saw - loved the accents though haha.

I've watched District 9 once, and I must say that I enjoyed it. :D

District 9 was one of my favorite films of 09 :D

It would've been a good film if it wasn't for that god damn soul destroying South African accent!

I've got this on DVD, I have yet to watch it. I'll watch it tomorow and post what i think :D

It sounds interesting, I might have to watch it.
