Hey,
I'm looking at getting my first car soon, and I've narrowed it down to 2 choices. You may think they are odd choices but I love the classic sporty car.

Love your choices, all I'd say is check the insurance prices online before you buy... you don't want to buy it and then realise you can't afford the insurance.
Best of luck getting insured on a classic car. Assuming your pretty young and not long passed, it's not going to happen I'm afraid :(
Props for picking two British cars though!
My sister is a teenager and can barely get insured on a 1.1 ... so definitely check that out before.
Saying that is completely untrue. Classic car insurance is infact available for new drivers often at a cheaper price than the average teenagers car. This is because less accidents are seen in such cars. If you're interested in classic car insurance yourself I'd recommend looking at Lancaster, Footman James or Adrian Flux.Quote:

Just don't give up too many of your rights... like that condition whereby you can only drive between 7am and 11pm. I think that's stupid to be honest, I see a lot of kids getting bogged down by silly insurance conditions.
I love your taste though and if you manage to get yourself insured then that's excellent pal! I don't know the best insurer to go for if you're a new and young driver, but I have used Admiral for 7 years, they're pretty cheap.
Nope, it's pretty true. As you said, classic cars you also have limits, not 100% on them but i'm sure you can't drive it between the hours of 23:00 and 7:00.Quote:

I don't plan on getting bogged down with some stupid conditions, I love night cruises so that's a definite no go ;)
I've also been offered a Triumph Herlad convertable that my dad restored for £200-£300 which is super cheap, needs about £300 worth of work doing. So it would be a major bargain. Not sure if I look the look of the herald though.

When you bargain with insurers you can actually get a cheap quote with reasonable conditions so I'm gonna give it a go!

It depends on the insurer you try to bargain with, at the end of the day they want your money and they know they can cover an accident even if they charge you £1, its a risk they are willing to take if you provide the impression you love your car - as someone who loves the car is more likely to be careful. Thats why being in an owners club or forum can also reduce insurance costs by 10-15%.
