With pure rangers and magers, you have a low combat level, everyone will think you're weak when in fact, you could kick their bum...and you can attack people that your main can't (because of the level difference).
But having a pure for non combat skills is pretty useless...unless they already have a high level in that skill on their main...and are just bored...

yeh but trading hc's and members code and stuff like that is harder to find then have 2 accounts on at the same time (they ban both accounts or give one of them black counters to both)
