What's happening to the law?

A man who offered a 12-year-old girl cokaine so she would have intercourse with him has been jailed.

Victor Kelly, 62, admitted supplying the drug and sexual assault, but police believe he abused dozens of girls under 14 over the past decade.

He was arrested after police bugged his flat in Guinness Close, Hayes, and his car for four days.

Kelly was told he would serve half of his eight-year sentence in jail and half on licence.

Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court heard Kelly would befriend girls' families before inviting the children back to his flat in Guinness Close, Hayes.

There, they would watch his £2,500 television and use his computer games.

In a recorded tape, Dublin-born Kelly referred to cokaine as "milk" and cannabis as "butter" as he lured the 12-year-old girl into taking drugs.

Judge Timothy Lawrence said Kelly had "groomed" the girl "with the obvious intention of ultimately involving her in sexual intercourse with you, a man in your 60s, and she a child of only 12."

Why was he jailed for '8' years? not life.. that girl could have died, she was 12. He basically assaulted her whilst she didn't know what was happening.

I'd give him life, not 8 years And 4 on license - pathetic.

And that's why I wouldn't vote Liberal Democrat.

Give him a lethel injection. It makes me sick thinking someone can do that.

So many vile people in this world. If he abused anyone their lives could be ruined forever. He should get a life sentence at least (only like 20 years but it's a lot better than what he did get). It's a disgrace some of the sentences people recieve after doing such awful things.

He also followed 5 girls on a camping trip and assaulted two of them. They were all 13.

Sounds like he deserves life.

Diabolical. I've heard of people who have commited suicide after being assaulted. It's one of the worst things that can happen to you, he deserves jail for the rest of his life if not death.

I might be able to understand it a bit more if he has a illness but it is still sick

That's disgusting. That horrible man. A family member of mine was attacked and the police left the investigation for too long, and when they did they could prove nothing. They knew they did it, although had no proof. It disgusts me. They'll be back on the streets, the scum.
