Introduction --
The Earth has passed it’s second Ice Age that began in 2050. The Ice burned out by heating of the planet, a new Earth was formed in 6007. Earth returned to its normal state for Human’s to survive on. From 6007 predictions, fears and sights were foretold that the world would end in year 10’000 at exactly midnight on the 31st of December. No one knows how. Chapter One
“My eye watched the tides rise…”
The deathly silent air flew around the trees below. A mount was stood beneath a woman’s feet, she could see for miles. The Sun was just setting, it’s colour painting the skies with a blood red colour. No cloud, was in sight. Above her was a darkened navy blue sky, a few stars were see able. The woman breathed in the air, it seemed to have a slight disturbance, a sort of un-easy wind rattling her rib-cages. Behind her was a child, around the age of 6. They were looking at something in the sky.. As if they were waiting for something. The girl tugged on the woman’s sleeve and quietly whispered, “Mother.. Why are we here?”. The woman looked down to see her worried expression, “We are waiting for something” replied the woman, forcing a smile. The girl looked un-easy, “I think we should go!” wailed the girl, grabbing the woman’s hand. “No, we are waiting!” shouted the woman, “WAITING FOR WHAT!?” screamed the girl.
Suddenly, in the corner of the girls eye, an orange light twinkled. At first she thought it was a star, but the light started to get closer, “For this” said the woman, looking down at the girl, smiling.
To the girl’s surprise the light wasn’t travelling towards them, it was travelling to the Earth’s satellite, the Moon. The woman tightened her grip on the girl’s hand and started to breath heavily. The light was travelling faster and faster towards the Moon, the girl clutching the woman’s hand didn’t know whether to run or stay. She didn’t know what would happen, what was that light? Why was it travelling to the Moon? A bad feeling flew across the girl like a wave. A wave she soon would be feeling again.
“Stand back” said the woman, starting to move back behind the tree. The girl was starting to whimper because of the fear she could sense. The woman started to breath harder until it sounded like she was whispering something, “The moon, end, the moon end, tides will rise we will all die I cannot live, not live, I always knew it would end to this, I always knew it would end like this, I can’t die, not NOW!”
The light sparked larger in the sky, it was metres from The Moon, “MOTHER YOU’RE SCARING ME!” screamed the girl, hugging the tree. The woman turned her head and shouted, “WE’RE GOING TO DIE.” the woman’s voice sounded robotic and controlled. Almost scary. Suddenly, the girl screamed horrifically, she pointed her finger into the sky. The woman followed her white bony finger to the direction of The Moon.
Before her, in the sky, the performance of The Moon she had just saw, steady and still, was crumbling to pieces into the dark abyss. A very faint crash was heard from The Earth, from The Moon. Then all was silent. The silence felt un-natural, it wasn’t right, but the woman knew this silence, she knew what it ment.. She knew what symptom it was..
The woman screamed, “NOO!”
The water about a mile away from them threw its blue crystallized self into the air, the woman watched it in horror, wishing it would go back down, but it didn’t it continued to rise higher and higher until it stopped. The water flung itself forward, crashing into the trees, the water was high enough to reach the woman and the girl. The girl was starting to cry hysterically, the woman was breathing fastly. None of them could think, the wave was coming.. It was coming to wipe them out. The woman gripped the tree as the wave got even closer, she looked up at the moon, its crumbling amounts of rock falling slowly, then she looked down. The wave was so close now, it was crashing into the last set of trees in front of them.. And then it would rise.
WOOOSH.
The wave drove up the mount, then sucked back in.. and then up again, building more height up the mount, trying to reach the woman and the girl. The woman couldn’t understand why she wasn’t running, she looked at the girl one more time until she saw the wave rising about 4 metres above them in the girls eyes, the wave stopped again, and then started to fall slowly, this time. The dark shadow was towering over them like a huge building about to collapsed, none of them could think straight, none of them could think to move. There was no where to run, they were helpless, they were going to die.
The woman’s pupils in her eyes expanded as the wave of water dropped with immense speed, the woman let go of the tree and grabbed the girls hand, she started to walk backwards quickly, the wave was drawing nearer to them.. Dropping faster, a sudden stroke of fear swirled in the woman’s heart, her pupils in her cold blue eyes enlarged further as the water of blue slapped down onto their faces, like a block of bricks destroying their beauty, the water filling their bodies they were no longer breathing in..
Crashing back onto her bed, Snow, a woman of such beauty, opened her eyes. Realising her surroundings. The dream she just experienced felt so real. Sweat drenched her body like a blanket of stress, Snow rubbed her face and looked out the window into the sky. The Moon beamed down on her, like it was waiting.. Just waiting..
