Melting Pot Theory is the theory that with inter-racial and inter-trait breeding of the world will eventually make everyone in the world become very similar, if not identical to eachother. Same skin color, same traits, everythingQuote:

Just as an exampe: (Just as a note, the below examples arent always true, just most likely)
Blonde is a rececive gene while brown is dominent
A blonde man + a blonde woman = blonde kid. (makes sense)
A blonde man + brown haired woman = brown haired kid
Since brown is dominant, it wins over blonde. So with all the mix-trait breeding, eventually, there will be no blondes.
*When you get down to the specifics, the examples above arent always true. Even 2 brown haired people can make a blonde kid (even though its rare). But 2 blonde people always must make a blonde kid. Weird, I know, but I studied genes this year.
Yeah we're studying genes at the moment and it's really complicated.
I didnt get it at first, but then it clicked. Its not hard at all once you get how it works.Quote:

Rogue genes ftw. That's how gingers like myself are made :D
Also one way 2 brown-haired parents could have a blonde child is if they carry the recessive blonde gene also, and it comes through as it often can. Melting Pot theory is all very well, but I very much doubt it'll be over by the 200 year estimate, we've had much more than that of different coloured eyes and hair mixing without anything becoming extinct as yet.
All of this talk about genes is confusing.
im gonna be an air hostess not a scientist :(
It means that your parents both carry the blonde gene, but arent blonde themselves. There is a 1 in 4 chance that 2 blonde-trait carrying parents will make a blonde kid. So its actually against odds that only one of you got brown hair.Quote:
