That's becuase most of them are Christian?
ya but so is most people in the world.
If you look at the chart most other countries believe in evolution.
They can also be religious and accept evolution.
Most americans are creationist christians... so It's no suprise! I'm a libral christian therefore I accept both the 7 day story and the big bang... but I'm not a fan of evolution... if evolution is right why have we stopped evolving ? EXACTLY ;) good topic to start btw.
Surposidly in 100-200 years we wont have little toes through evolution ahah :p Personally I don't believe in evolution because if we evolved from monkeys why is there still monkeys and I am a Christian :]
I am a Christian, Yet i accept the theory of Evolution. But then again i am more interested in teh science world of that stuff and the stars etc.

Evolution is proven anyway, its a fact. The thery of eveolution is how eveolution works, nothing to do with its existance
Evolution is proven, a fact it cannot be theory, thats like saying you don't believe in gravity or oxygen.
We are evolving but it takes millions of years.

Well it's a possibility. I'm agnostic, so I won't flat out refuse the existance of a god or even a pantheon of gods, but I also won't refuse evidence. Evolution is something that happens for some reason, why that is I'm not sure (it's meant to be to do with keeping the species alive, so I guess the reason why we don't see much evolution taking place can be credited to the fact that nature has an ok balance at the moment). There's clearly more to it than that though, such as why we're able to evolve and how we know what to adapt to automatically.
i just don't understand why anyone would want to figure out why we are here. In my opinion, just be happy that your here than going off and spending years on why we are >.>
Because evolution happens when a change is necessary, there are no more changes at the moment that need to happen. Not to mention it takes thousands of years. However, we might loose our pinky toe in the years to come.Quote:

We didnt come from monkeys, just monkeys and humans came from the same being. And they turned different because of migration. Some of the monkeys stayed in one place while others moved, thus having different needs to survive thus adapting and changing.Quote:

I myself don't believe in evolution.
Genesis was apparently most likely to have been written by Moses, same as a few other Old Testament books. I think he's quite a good author really.
On topic, why would we lose our little toes? We need them for balance.
I go by the basis that a lot of religion is just to fill in what man cannot explain, so in the ancient times evolution could not be explained so they used the creation story. Now it is proven I believe it...
It's kinda sad how children may not get taught the evolution story and it must mean theres a lot of poor grades in biology...
