We did it! But as people can't give you the total answer all I can give is some hints.
Think mainly on the subject of Crooks, there is more, but I don't want to give too much away ;)
i did this in year 10 i loved it i liked the story and well enjoyed it
Tip: follow Nixt's advice very helpful
and good luck with it
we started doing this in year 10, but in year 11 we got a new English teacher as our year 10 one adopted a baby and got adoption leave now we are doing Hard Times :D
Ah I did this in year nine, I love that book. Sad ending though =[
And yeah think about what Nixt said...
Erg, they still don't give you guys good books to write about then? lol.
The endings ment to be sooo sooo controversial? No it isnt... He should of killed him :s.. lol
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol sorry reading that book was like trying to get blood out of a stone!
Yes, Nixt advice is helpful but try to think metophroic aswell
thanks for help, + rep all
sorry nixt, says i have to spread, ill put reminder in my sig
I rember that, i did it way back when... or nearly 2 years ago for gcse "/ its an easy one
My cousin read the book and thought it was great.
I'm in year 11 or 12 (not sure what you people in England class it as hehe), and I'm reading The Cone Gatherers.
It has roughly the same storyline, but is much more advanced and the ideas and characters are more developed. :]
yeah i did in 9th grade. i cant remember which one out of the many books we did that year it was... sorry..
Im currently being forced to read it for my English, Its gonna be in our gcse exam, I read like 3 pages and dont get whats happening, if anyone can write a few lines on what its mainly about and whats happening, ill pass a rep.
check out this website, it sums up each chapter and has notes on characters.. very useful!
Its mostly about Euthanasia (killing someone for mercy. Such as killing a dog after it gets hit by a car and you know it cant survive). The ending where Lenny gets shot is obviously one example, but also when they shoot that old dog because it was so tired and unhappy.
i got an essay 4 of mcie and men as well
its hardd
my essay question i have to do over half term is:
How does Steinbeck's presentation of the 'weak' characters in 'Of Mice & Men' reflect the hardship of depression-era ranch life?
cba to do it :(
we're doing it in yr 10.
We've just done Holes, now were doing GCSE Text Killer Mocking Bird..
im in year 11 and ive just gotta right out the essay for

@Emz we just finished holes in Year 9, lol good book.
I remember holes ahah :p we did it in year eight though and we did some book about a homeless person in year 9, not done Mice and Men in English yet, just done Shrek and I got an A on my coursework for it :] I was like ;oo doing some Anthology(Poems) thing in English now.
I liked of mice and men - poor old lenny gets shot :(
i remember doing this, was a big waste of time. but i still got a good mark for it so im not complaning.
so many of you gave the ending away, however the film is good, "george" lololol (yes im sad but if you have watched the film you will know how lennie says george and its funny =])
Heh done this, it was quite good. The film was ok, but it wasnt as good as the book, like most book to movie conversions... I did Holes too, im on Romeo & Juliet right now, next term is Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. That'll be good. Its quite easy once you see.. Ill just comment on the Racism of it, and the disability. You figure out the rest.
that book sucks lol, we had to right about lonelyness
