Round mints. They used to have these really lame commercials back in the 90's, with people with miniscule problems that were solved, and had a mentos to celebrate. [See one of them]. Foo Fighters even made a spoof of them in one of their videos [clicky]

Anyway, this is pretty old. Apparently it happens because there are so many tiny little holes and ridges in the texture of mentos, it creates an explosion of bubbles.

My mate told me if you drank about 6 cans of coke, and ate 16 packets of mento's, as fast as you could, your stomach would explode. doubt it though.

Nah, you'd just throw up. The bubbles would just rise up, not expand your stomach.

Nothing. It isnt like an explosion or anything, it just makes a lot of bubbles, and overflows. It shoots up because so much pressure forced into the top part (like if you squeeze a hose, it shoots farther). You'd just get a bunch of bubbles in your mouth and it would just overflow out. You probably wouldnt be able to get enough coke, mentos, and close your mouth fast enough for it to do much anyway.

We used 2.5litre bottles (About £1 for a bottle) And none of them worked.

But hell did we get soaked trying :(
