I've tried it, very good, definatly for beginners but you need to buy it :(

It's no way near for beginners. RPG Maker 2000 is for new users, but XP is much more advance using scripts and ruby to code.
I was a beginner to that engine when I first used it and I never used 2000 but I got the hang of itQuote:
