Basically, more intelligent people have more zinc and copper in their hair (source). Blonde hair, in general has less zinc and copper in it and more magnesium, hence the stereotype of blondes being 'dumb'.

Well if people have researched into it and found that smarter people tend to have more zinc and copper in their hair, and when they look closely at blonde hair and realise it has less zinc and copper in it than other hair colours...

It doesn't mean it is true in all cases though.

Nah...erm dunno? You do get some really stupid ones thought but suppose theres brunettes/redheads that are just as bad.

Blondes are dumb, obviously some can be, but just as many brunettes or red heads can be dumb. Stupidity depends on the person, not the hair colour.

In my experience, the blonde people I know act up on the stereotype to gain attention. Mainly from lads.. and 90% of the time it works :rolleyes: So basically, blondes are given this stereotype more & more because some people feel the need to fit into it.

Actually, I think there stereotype came from the age of models. When supermodels etc came poping up in the mid 1900's, most of them dyed their hair blonde, and as we know, the stereotype for models is that they are dumb. So it kinda transfered over. I dont think the stereotype came from the amound of zinc in your hair.
