I would like to point out I have already posted in the list of features for the next version that all old versions would be released for free.
So one sees no way in which it makes you hard by releasing it. Do as you please of course, but if you do v6 wont be released at all :)

The script was coded in the UK and therefore is bound by UK & International Copyright Laws.
You don't need to apply for copyright if you live in the UK, you can copyright anything and it is bound by UK & International Copyright Laws.
