Mine are exactly the same. Tied for first I think. What's funny is that Jonny Greenwood says people shouldnt think of him as this extremly talented musician because "there are people like Tom Morello out there creating similar stuff with about four pedals it's almost impossible to even put us in the same league". So Jonny Greenwood actually looks up to Tom Morello, haha.
But I dont really IDOLIZE any of them because I want to get stuff from everywhere. Kinda like what Beck does.
The guy from Generation X had a really distinctive sound, but I like the guitar work of Simon and Garfunkel very much so I'll say them.
Gandolf the gay
and one of the chickmoks out of the Chickmonks christmas special
graham coxon [ex-blur (or is he now? ^_^); solo]
i looove his trademark twisting and jangled riffs. cool mockney voice too.
quite literally a genius. basically.
Synyster Gates from Avenged Sevenfold.
Slash :D
Eddie Van Halen/Steve Vai.
Pure.Awesome.
Kirk Hammett & Synyster Gates.
Both awesome at solo's :D
Kirk Hammett is my favourite.
Some others are Dave Mustaine,Dimebag Darrel,Eddie Van Halen,Slash. :)
Dimebag was pretty amazing.
Zakk Wylde's work for Black Label Society is incredible.
a would be Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix
I can't believe only 1 person has mentioned Hendrix?!
Hendrix all the way.
Jimmy Page
Well, most people only think of the Smells Like Teen Spirit solo when they talk about Cobain's music. I think Breed, Lounge Act and You Know You're Right are amazing songs, but no part of Cobains guitar stands out to me, it's usually Grohl on drums that does.
I like Dave Grohl as a guitarist, mainly because he swapped from drumming to lead guitar and sounds at home on both instruments. He also has one of those great personalities; interviews with him generally are great to watch.
Matt Bellamy of Muse and Ray Toro of MyChemicalRomance also deserve mentions. Matt's guitar work is absolutely amazing in songs like Hysteria, New Born and Stockholm Syndrome. Ray is one of the only members of MCR that stands out to me; if you listen to their first album where it is only him on Guitar then it has a much better, harder sound.
yeh, matts pretty awesome, and hes has that cool guitar with the touch pad at the bottom
slash is up there, as is the two guitarist from avenged sevonfold, they just work so well together i think
Slash, Slash, Slash!

troy van luewen (sp), he is the Jonny Greenwood of QOTSA... he also plays a mean electric lap steel
Ever see Jonny Greenwood in Harry Potter? He was in that band at the ball.
He's the one with the crazy triple neck guitar. You can hear him going crazy on the guitar with the effects and stuff but the volume of the guitar is low. Phil from radiohead is the drummer.
Randy Rhodes...
& Eddie Van Halen's a close second.
zacky vengeance & jepha howard. [:
slash + joe satriani.
Tom Petty
Tom morello is pretty damn amazing
i forgot to say yngwie malmsteen.
guy's a fxxxing legend.
Andy Summers
Yeah, astounds me how he even thought of some of the "effects" he does. By the way have you heard chris cornell's solo song? he broke up with audioslave :( but he's a damn good soloist. Black hole sun will always remain in my heart though :p such an amazing song - soundgarden
(edit: said savage garden- LOL)
My uncle's pretty good, Don't really listen to other guitarist's tbh :D
if we can put bass guitarists in, id say les claypool, flea, matt freeman, nick oliveri and cliff burton (RIP)
Na Joe Lally is the bassist.
oh em gee... les claypool ftw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgQF9M9ivTg
