They aren't actually lesbians. Their old manager made them act that way so they could gain publicity by causing controversy. Since they left their old management they no longer act that way.
You are right though, when they acted as though they were lesbians no one bullied them, but people were against the idea.
it was easy to see the videos were staged.

They weren't lesbians, as someone stated, it was all an act to sell CD's and what not. I think they both have boyfriends and stuff. And, no-one took the mick out of them or anything, as it would of seen homophobic and everything.
