Text RPG

Ok, I'm thinking of making a textbased RPG I can provide costs I have £70 to get it started.. which is enough or a good host etc.. But I need help I can Program PHP But not very well, i'd need help nothing to big, to be honest it's a bit of a rip / copying idea off of 'Kings of Chaos' It basially works like that but you can have a items & weapons and you can equip armor etc.. to your character.. I will need help though, if anyone can program for me for free.. you'll also be an administrator and get credit when you sign up in the T&Cs your names will be there.So PHP DESIGNERS PLEASE POST HERE!

If your an Okish coder yourself, why not just start doing it yourself, if you get stuck, post specific problems and quearts here and people will for the most part be happy to help you out. If you want someone to do pretty much the whole thing for you, your posting in the wrong forum, you want ether requests or staff to hire a coder.

And hosting for a POPULAR RPG Game will cost around £30-£200 p/m for a GOOD reliable server. (You would have to go dedi.)

entor you' just about the only perso who can say that CC cuz u have an extremelywell programmed PHP functional site. the rest of just slate everything

Talking like that to someone wont get you far. If a businessman is trying to hire an employee, does he shout in his face and yet expect him to work for him? Er.. no?

I dont slate everything. I slate things which havnt been thought-out well. An idea of this scale would take around 3-5 months PRE planning.

Oh and I can code in PHP so yeah...

Indeed hosting a popular RPG will cost that much, infact a really popular one will cost a massive amount more, but RPG's don't magically become super popular over night, even myspace didnt. They start small, a few users don't use much bandwidth, it gets more popular, it grows, more bandwidth is used, but more ad revenue is made. When it gets quite popular, yes he may need a more powerful host/server. But until then a nice small one will do just fine o.0 RPG's popularty grows, as does the specs required to run them, idealy the server used should grow in capatabilty at a simlar pace. But why put in invest in an infulstruture you dont need.

Well i posted as in saying, don't rip games ( not saying you would or woulden't) as some person called kyle already ripped games on this forum and text based games and got caught, and nearly big actions nearly happened to him.

There are a few more slates needed before someone may actually help you (its the the forum rules that we have to give you atleast 7 slates). So I might aswell do a few in this post:

- Will you ever offer pay?
- What are you going to do?
- Are you just going to do nothing and take the glory?

Ill use whateve left from hosting to pay 2 people hosting probs around £30 so around £40. Im going to do templates css & html & graphics & ill tell you what to do. not as in what but what and how to code certain pags about 12 dynamic pages will be needed. Im not everyone will share equal credit It will be done through a team name then in the team i will also say what we all did in the project each you will all also have a staff profile of what you did who you are and what you've dne

It isnt hard to make a text rpg you can use normal hosting and you can download the coding [although it will probably be rubbish] but getting the game popular and used is hard as text is boring most people would rather play runescape or something.

If i had the interest in making one it would cost me like $10 a month to run -.-' no need for a server

theres literally 1 or 2 bugs which are MySQL errors & i cant get it when you report a user to input the stuff into MySQL the reports CP in admin just says noreports view i checked via phpmyadmin and its not there..
anyway once a few more features are added etc.. ill buy a proper domain checkit out right now though.. and FTR who said a mmorpg'd cost 30-200 quid a month so far 0. and later today - tommorow £7.99(I already have hosting) :PP and who said a 13 year ol cudnt completely remake a dull literal attack monster game turned it into a guild weilding, monstr attacking, land bearing, fort doing MMORPG!
