English Shakespeare mocks / real exams for SATs.
Don't see the point of it.
I tried asking 'Why should I do this if I am welsh?" and my english teacher didn't even answer my question.
kk thats my little rant over, I'm OK now. :eusa_danc

I think Shakespeare's okay, I got 11/18 on a mock we did (6c lol) not many people got higher than that though.
But we didn't do much Shakespeare in wales (not where I was) but yeah.
I suppose it's for us to gain an understanding on the type of language they used them days and stuff. I'm doing my SATS in May too and we're doing it on Richard III. English is one of my good subjects so hopefully I shouldn't do too bad. Anyway good luck for them.
because english is the most widespoken language, if you dont like it, move to russia.
english/shakespeare is easy anyway.
He was ahead of his time.
its really not, if you look at a word, and see what it looks like, its quite simple? They only play with words and twist them.
then when they say something, they'll describe it, read between the lines such as:
"is it possible disdain should die, while she hath such meet food as signior benedíck? Courtesy itself must convert to disdain, if you come in her presence"
such as here, the first part is using benedícks words against him like 'are you yet living' asin 'are you still alive?', as before he called her lady hate (disdain) she says back 'is it possible to die, when theres someone like you (benedíck) to fuel her hate towards him. She then goes on to say, he has no courtesy, and courtesy herself (she shows courtesy as a real person to explain) will have to turn into hate if she met someone as horrible as him (benedíck)
This shows she dosent really like him, but if you see the words they use, they dont actully mention one anothers names, but use things like 'lady disdain and others, so its not actully aimed directly at them, as you'll see when you read on from the play, they both and have always loved each other, but as they've been through it all before, they refuse to show it, and cover it up with comments and words they actully dont really mean.
Hate it as well mate. Were doing 'Much ado about nothing', how very boring.
Don't moan until you have to do Romeo and Juliet for coursework..
It's actually not hard at all, just annoying.
At the end of the day, you have no choice - Shut up and put up!
