A lot of musicians put their albums out on the internet, usually not downloadable before they come out. I remember Muse put their entire album on their myspace last year about 2 weeks before the album. I think its actually one of the music industry's new defences from leaked albums: put the album on the internet yourself, so that people go straight to the source, but make it so they'll have to buy it anyway.
And every album these days gets leaked a few weeks, sometimes even monthes before the album comes out. Especially big ones.
