The domain is actually registered under Sulake LTD and was created in 2004 so hey ho.
Ok..., i was just thinking cuz the Habbo Beta is like a town really.

yeh, it is an interesting prospect. theres always wierd speculation about things sometimes.

There is not a new BETA. Everyones just wetting themselves over a 2001 screenshot.
If there is a new habbo, it will be "Habbo 2"

Sulake buy up a lot of domains for various reasons, they own Snouthill.com and others alike. Habbotown.net could mean anything, they could even be making a town where you can pick out the hotel that you want to go to so that it's all on one server (doubtful, but a theory).
About the BETA Habbo, that was released in 2001 for the BETA testers to use. This will not be returning as Habbo Hotel is at a stable revenue at the moment and returning it to it's BETA stages would be practically going back to stage 1 of Habbo. In result of this Sulake would probably go bankrupt. Regarding Habbo 2, I don't know if this is true or not, but I doubt it. If they do release it they will more than likely release it as a sub-initiative to the normal Habbo, (meaning you can decide which to use). Perhaps Habbo 2 would be a computer game released in shops like The Sims?
Edit: Perhaps even if they did release Habbo 2 in the shops it would be called 'Habbotown' because if you look at some of the Habbo 2 screen shots, you can see the Habbos going to the shop to buy a hat and so on. Again this is just a theory.
I think Habbo 2 would be a good idea, it is time for Sulake to think about it since they are just doing the same things over and over (releasing different coloured furni a lot and releasing so many rares that the word rares has lost its touch). I remember in 2004, Habbo was so much more fun specially whilst trading since there weren't so many rares and having 1 rare was something amazing whilst now, people have hundreds of different rares which just defeats the point of them being "rares".

Why are people so excited over a re-direct? Anyone can re-direct a site anywhere... so this could actually mean nothing...

It's to stop scam sites.
Think about it, somebody created 'Habbo 2' so if they create habbotown.net they can put something like:
"To register your account before the town opens, please enter your old username and password to secure your position!"
Therefore gaining access to your hotel account.

it also mentions on sulake.com that its aquired a social networking site[like myspace] and will plan on releasing it over the world, could this be it?
It does "exist". By exist I mean it's a legitimate video. If it's a currently-existing project is something I don't know. But I do know at one point in time they were working on it.
