Scrap the rep.

This was being discussed in that thread. This thread is a bit pointless.

I agree. It's either a competition to have the most green rep, or people complaining because they have negative rep, it's just so pointless. It needs scraping, they'll be less arguments too.

They can't scrap people, people have paid for rep.

I dont agree, Reputation points help people to contribute to the community, as some people think "oh i'll do this blah blah blah.... and get some good rep". its also the only we can "reward" someone for good one on a layout or a pixel edit,.

I think it should. Its honestly just pointless now, and at the end of the day - its a peice of rep. It doesnt change your life, yet people end up getting really het up about it. It would stop arguments. But I doubt it will be abolished.

If you dont want the rep system, go to your user cp and switch it off. Personaly i like the feature, its good to be able to comment directly on a post every once in a while.

Reputation is meaningless. For one, it isn't an indicator of anything because the majority of reputation points aren't for posting something significant but something totally irrelevant. None of my reps are "wow what a fantastic post you made several excellent points", they're just "dude wAAzUUp". Other than means to gain e-popularity reputation is meaningless.

I think rep was fine until it could be bought. Now it's pointless, because people just buy it to say they are safe and stuff, you can't buy a reputation in real life, you earn it. Same concept on the forums.

that's true.

they cant scrap the rep as people have bought it and it would take them a long time to re-emberse everyone, also the v.i.p members will lose yet another feature. If you dont like it turn yours off in user cp so it goes black, the people who mainly would want this scrapped are people with red or very low rep as some people may think theyre not trustworthy, it doesnt really matter though, its only some blocks.

It matters as peole moan and it causes arguments. I want it scrapped and I dont have low rep?
People who bought rep could either get refunded or exchange it for vip

Im with you. If the option to buy it was removed I see no harm in keeping it

Reputation means reputation. I think it's good. Because if you're trading with someone, and they have high reputation you will feel more confident as scammers tend to get loads of -rep.

Anyway, the other thread was fine.

It's only being discussed as being taken away because some people take it too seriously.. rep is a good thing, because it can tell others what you're like.

Don't scrap +rep, it's too late to get rid of it now. Unless you converted it into *thinks of word* equasion? of a different method so lets say a star system or something, 10 points = 1 star = 100 rep. or something like that, I can't think of the word which will make my sentance right :(

I don't think rep should be scrapped, I think the option to buy rep should be scrapped, because it really gets rid of the purpose of rep being there.

That's what I'm trying to say, don't they get enough money from just VIP alone, that or make 2 rep systems, one you earn and one you buy :P
