right this has to be said

people think i, and a lot of my friends smoke just to look cool. this is not the case.

i understand that many teens these days just smoke either from peer pressure or to look 'cool'. and i understand that it might seem stupid. but you have to understand that this pressure to look good can lead to addiction. like it has for me.

i hate smoking, i always will, and im trying my damn best to stop. but its a thing that takes time. addiction lasts a lifetime. it is a disease and cannot ever be wiped, you can be addicted to anything and it doesnt make you stupid for getting caught into it.

please, just dont think about the load of ****by teens who smoke to look good, and just try to forgive the buncyh of us who cannot actually help it.

I started to "look cool" and then i realised its not cool, but i dont feel addicted but everytime i have money so basicly everyday i end up buying more and more even though i think i can do without.

I stopped for 3 months then got offered a cig and took it.

:( I need to stop! Its ruinin my health, i cant run for long periods of time no more and im wasting lots of money :(

It's not the end of the world that you need to go outside to smoke fgs. At least it means you lot arn't being inconsiderate any longer and polluting the rest of us with your crap.

yeah but the general answer was 2008/2009/2010/2011/2012 via msn and pm's etc, so i gave up on the whole palava. i think i'll just give up and feed my habits through good old alcoholism, weyheyy!

it does actually, if you breathe in the smoke that has been exhaled by the smoker, you'd be a second-hand smoker or whatever. point is, it still affects the people around you.

yes, smoking is hard to quit. but if you have to will to quit and you really really want to, it's possible. it takes patience and endurance though. the best thing to do is not to go into it in the first place.

Just try not to. Maybe chew on something else, like a lolly. Good luck :)

Ill say what I said in the other thread. The age is OFFICIALLY going up to 18 on October 1st 2007.

I thought u was "cool" when i was smoking.
When my best mate started smoking i thought well if he's smoking why shouldn't i.

We both used to play on Habbo, i stopped hanging around with him and quit smoking.

He quit Habbo goes out more now and still smokes.

I think i made the right desicision in losing a friend than smoke.

However he wasn't much of a good friend sometimes, i won't go into anymore.

& yeah giving up smoking takes will power and its about if you want, if you dont theres no point in trying. most people dont know what to do with their hands when they give up

anything can be done on pure willpower, you just have to be a strong enough person to do it.

1. nobody really cares.
2. addiction is not a disease, that's a crappy excuse.
3. this is just attention seeking, and i think this makes you look even more like you're trying to look cool, by drawing more attention to the fact that you smoke.

tbh; it's your own fault for starting in the first place.

Nobody put the cigarette in your mouth for you and lit it, you did.

Addiction doesn't last a lifetime. It's called giving up & willpower. All about how much you want it really.

Addiction is not a disease, it's a frame of mind. Also, it can be cured, hence how people give up smoking and other addictions.

Also, as stated it is not a disease. That was a stupid thing to say. That's like saying drinking once a week is a disease - it's not. However people become alcoholics, and unless you are smoking in the region of about 40+ cigarettes a day then I wouldn't call it 'extreme' let alone a disease.

Not everything you read is true. So by referring to some book which people need to 'grow up' for (a stupid comeback aswell) is stupid in itself as you can write anything and that doesn't make it true.

im not sure if you knew, but that book is a lie. it was this huge controversy last year here in the states. i dont care about the rest of the thread, just thought i would point that out.

I personally think the image of smoking is quite hot :/, I think I'm the only person left on the planet who thinks this; oh apart from chavs (obviously). Also, no I don't like the "yellowed nails, smoker's cough, cancer... etc," whatever happens when you've been smoking for 40 years.

I call them "moneysticks" because they waste soo much money.

Smoking is easy to give up.. you just need to know how

It would in the long run, or say if you wanted to be a footballer, they're more likley to choose the non smoking players over the ones who smoke, due to their health. Because smoking damages your health, your lungs etc so you can't run as fast without being puffed out.
