Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the worse Harry Potter film I have ever seen, it is rushed and here is a list of the rubbish things :
Quidditch cut out completely
All of the rooms at the ministry are missed out for example the room with the brains and the time room
St.Mungo's is cut out completely
No Gildery Lockhart
Mrs Figg an absolutely appalling actress
No howler for Petunia Dursley
Grimauld Place only appears twice and for a short time
No Boggart and Mrs Weasley
Sirius' Mum's portrait only appears once and behind a curtain
Neville doesn't get tortured by Bellatrix Lestrange
No interview in the Quibbler with Rita Skeeter and Harry
Only a tiny mention of OWLs and exams
No Freinz teaching Divination
No nearly headless Nick
No two way mirrors
A radio in hogwarts with chart music? Electronics don't work at hogwarts and why chart music? Why not the Weird Sisters or other wizarding bands
No prefects
Cho's friend doesn't appear or snitch on the DA instead Cho confesses to Umbridge under a truth potion
So I would rate the film a 3/10 mainly because it had good special effects and normally I would rate the films highly but this one was absolutely dreadful which is surprising considering I found the 5th book the best and bad news David Yates is directing the 6th film so I am expecting the same.

i know. i thought it was the worst film that has been made for harry potter. total piece of crap and a waste of money and time.

i didn't think the last one was any good so, yeah, i don't really have any high hopes for that one.
my sister was saying about cho confessing in this film and i was like, doesn't the girl do it & get all spots for talking? and she was like no..
i hate it when they miss things out.
this is why i read the books before i even thought of seeing the films.

Yeah Cho's friend was completely cut out :X
Biggest load of crap ever :@

Hmm, seeing as it was a VERY long book then they obv had to cut some bits out.
Personally i think all the Potter books could have been better. Like in the last one they missed out dobby entirely and he is the best and winky!!
i aint seen it yet and i wont be rushing to the cinema. Im not expecting it to be brill. The potter films r just a laugh really.

I liked it.
They cant put EVERYTHING in or else it would be 18 hours long, and people would complain about that. so the producers cant win.

I know they can't put everything in but if you check my extensive list, I find the things I put were vital, well most of them anyway.

They did cut a lot but this book was twice as long as the third book and it would have been at least 5 hours if they wanted to put all those things in, I would have happily sat through 5 hours but most people wouldn't.

Lozzoling
so, in goblet of fire they missed out the whole winky storyline
which was like the main part of the book and good character building for hermione
think about it, they have to fit it into a 2 and a half hour film at the most
if they were gonna do it bit by bit it'd be 6 hours
personally i wouldn't mind them splitting the book into 2 films

I hate the films anyway. Before I saw the films I had my own idea of how Harry and etc looked but after the films came out I can't imagine Harry without him looking like Daniel Radcliffe. It ruins the fun.

i thought it was well good tbhh. the only thing i was unimpressed with was at the beginning when they get attacked. in the book, dont they get attacked by loads? i read the book ages ago so cant remember much.
but besides that, it was all good. and people in the cinema were clapping at certain parts and whistling when harry and that girl kissed. i was like >.<

i think its this
well
they wanted ot make money so they rushed the film and released it asap so therefore it wasnt as good as it could be they cut corners just to make money becuase harry potter is such a good film people would pay to go see another

I thought it was a great film, better than all the others, and just because it missed out a tiny few details which aren't really important doesn't mean it should be given a rating 3/10.
Also whe Luna says "Everything we lose comes back to us... Just not in the way we expect" any clues for book 7?

A few tiny points? Quidditch I wouldn't class as tiny, Snape's pensive isn't tiny and Dumbledore telling Harry personally what the prophecy holds is definitely not tiny ''/

If you've read the books - the films are crap. If you haven't - they're good.

I've seen it and I just saw it as a bit of a laugh. I'm not gonna criticise it for missing out loads of the book I'm just gonna enjoy it for what it is. A kids film and just a bit of a giggle.

I thought it was good. But tbh i dont read the books :P But it was a large book to put into 2hours n 30mins. The next to books are way smaller so maybe way better.

Everyone actually clapped at the end of the film when I went to see it. :P I thought it was alright, a bit slow at the beginning but gets better at the end. Although I didn't really mind watching the beginning and waiting for it to build up because the girl who plays Luna kept coming on and she is rather hot. :$ I haven't read the other books after The Order of the Phoenix so can anyone tell me if Luna is in the other 2 books aswell?

The Prisoner of Azkaban also took 2 years to make.
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are all staying on to finish the series so they're all gonna be like 20 by the time they've made the other 2 films. :P

POTC was 3 hours long, Harry potter was 1 and 45 hours or somthing, They had time to do alot more
16-07-2007, 03:59 PM
Niall!
Films ruin good books tbh

Not at all. they can't include everything. if they included one thing, people would be like "if that was in it why wasn't [blank] in it?".
and even if they DID make it exactly like the book-- what would be the point in seeing it?

I havn't read the book and I could tell alot of it was snipped I couldn't follow the story at all!

I liked the Fred & George fireworks bit

2hd.
It was definetly rushed but Harry Potter films have always been. There's key parts in the book and I could only see one being used, and that was when Dumbledore says
"It was foolish of you to come here tonight Tom"

It was alright, sure, they cut out a lot but you gotta know they can't put EVERYTHING in it, else it'd be too long.
I was a little disappointed, especially with the flashback with the marauders and young!snape being cut so short, cause that was one of my favorite parts in the book. In my opinion, the fourth movie was the worst and the third movie was the best. Still, the fifth wasn't too bad. I actually enjoyed it for the most part.. but I'm going to stick to the books, tbh.

Seriously, you lot are saying you can't put EVERTHING in ''/
Yes I know that, I am not completely ignorant to the fact you can't
But they cut out the most important pars of the 5th book, when Dumbledore tells Harry about the prophecy personally in full detail and explains its significance.

i thought it was great! i had very low expectations but it was very well done.

Are you saying the film was rubbish as a stand-alone film, or compared to the other films, or compared to the book?

It's kind of official that Order of the Phoenix was the worst book out of them all.
I didn't pick up a lot from the book though as when I was reading it, I was "racing" a girl in my class to see who could finish it first, which I regret, cos I'm never gonna read it properly. Wouldn't be any point reading it now cos I know the ending :l
The film was good but it just lacked something. Dunno what. All films have been like that recently, Order of the Phoenix, Shrek III. I'm hoping that the Simpsons Movie won't be the same.

The simpsons movie i think will be terrible. it isn't the original writers. the show has gone down hill the past few years, ive stopped watching it completely. i'll see the movie, but im not getting my hopes up.

It was okay, considering I never actually read the book for this one because the first few chapters were utter crap.
I would have liked it more of the Order of the Phoenix and the Death Eaters had longer fight scenes
