I miss my mom.

I miss my mom. It's not like she's dead and I'll never see her again, she's just never home.

My parents are divorced and my dad lives in Canada, so I don't see him as often as I would like. These past few months, we've moved and she's been at meetings in L.A. for weeks at a time, and I'm home alone. She's going away again for 2 weeks at the end of August, and I'm going to be home alone.

At night she's either at work or out with her girlfriends, and if she's home, I'm usually out or at work. It seems like I never see her.

I live in a house where there are basicly no rules or curfews so I can do pretty much whatever I want.. I just wish I could watch a movie with my mom, or go out to lunch without it being intrupted by a cell-phone, or push her in the pool! hahha

All my friends have mom's and dad's that are always around, but mines not, when my friends are like "i am so jealous, your mom is never home" or "i'm so jealous, your mom left you home alone for 2 weeks" I'm like ya, but I'm actually jealous of them having there mom or dad home all the time.

I just wish it would go back to the time when mom was home, when she took vacation and stayed home, and we'd go to the beach togeather and she'd point and make fun of the people who were wearing bathing suits that looked bad, or when we'd go to the movies and her and I would throw popcorn at the people sitting in front of us, or when I'd go to work with her and she'd show me houses she was remodeling. I miss all of that.

I can't see it changing anytime soon either, in a few years I'll be in University in Canada, and she'll be all alone, I just wish we could spend these last few years togeather as a family.

I rambled on a lot, but I had to get it out.

Anyone else have this problem?

Well quite simply, when she is home - Instead of going out with your friends, then spend some time with her... Go a theme park or something.

That's what his saying when his not gonna be there she will.

just tell her how you feel and that you want to spend time with her. my dad lives on the other side of leicester and my mum is moving to dubai with my sister cause she wants to teach abroad and my sister has to go. my grandma has moved in with me as my mum will come back possibly in 3 years - or she might stay longer if she feels like it. so i might feel how you feel in the future.

When my dad goes away for business meetings he could go for upto a week regularirly... mostly over 1 night or 2 but because it happens so much in a certain time space it feels I never see him but when he is home I do, and i'm glad, it must be really upsetting to have no family with you on demand :(

My dads like that but Ive never found any solution but to tell him exactly how I feel... your mom loves you and when you talk to her shes gonna understand and do her best.

my mom lives in illinois and my dad lives with me and hes only home for about 7-9 hours a day, including the night time :/

All u can do is tell her how you feel. Or if you dont want to be so direct then maybe just start suggesting u do things together. Like if thers a nice restraunt near by say u want to check it out and ask her to go to and then spend the whole evening chatting and just drop in that ud like to spend more time with her.
Idk, iv never had any real relationship wit my dad and my ma was a total ***** who i havnt seen since i was 15 and i dont want to so i cant really understand child parent relationships to good.
I spend lots of time wit my aunti who i live with, atleast once a week we will sit down with a bottle of wine or two and just chaff away and we go shopping and stuff together. Meh.

I suggest taking leave from your work sometime, and have a nice outing with her. Maybe you can take advantage of the weekends to do this too. Explain to her how you feel, how you need to have a parent to be with you, maybe she will understand and get some time off so you can spend time doing those stuff again.

I feel the same thing with my dad.
My parents aren't divorced, and he's not dead, but in the past few moths he had to work A LOT. He was never home in Paris and my mom had a lot to do with our moving to London... so I used Habbo as my alcohol ;)
Even now, that I'm writing you from Rome, he's still in Paris working. I hope we're going to be together in London.

I don't wanna sound rude or anything but have any of you wonderd maybe your mum/dad is having a affair? My uncles wife was having a affair, My uncle found out when she kept saying she had to go to new york for business visits, then central london and stuff like that, After a while he got fed up, And announced at a family meal shes been sleeping with one of her business partners and she never actully went to new york & where ever she said, She checked into the same hotel she went to, And had sex with him :l

Thats why my parents got divorced..

my mum and dad are always out and work or the pub and i ended up getting really down about fights with friends, always having to look after my sister, her having them wrapped round her finger and how there never home.. after me my mum and dad spoke they spend more time at home, my sister doesn tget away with much and i get to spend time iwth my mum...
so maybe you should try talking to your mum and tell her how you feel.

Well, if there's a time you see her, tell her how you feel. If she tries to say can we talk about this later tell her this is something we need to talk about now & if we aren't able to, then I'm considering moving out. Then if she begins to talk, just tell her, mom, I miss you. We never spend time together, we never do anything together. Just basically tell her how you feel. Maybe she'll understand. That's pretty rough though never seeing your mom or dad. My parents aren't divorced & I see both of them equally. My mom sometimes works at home because she owns her own business. My dad, goes to work 5 days a week, except weekends. We see eachother a lot. Normally watch a movie on Friday nights cause then, my mom normally stays home & works there. Then we go shopping & stuff. The only time I don't see my mom is when she does her wedding planning stuff or parties. She just extended into party planning & so yeah. Like when she goes to the weddings or parties till all hours of the morning, it's rough but I get over it. My dad is home when she's not so... I hope she understands & this gets a lot better.
