Xbox live "chats an im"

ye well when your playing a game ye and you hit the xbox button and it takes you to your profile screen go down to chats and im and across to "messenger" and i get:

Windows live messenger is not available from a windows live child acc.

Any ideas? =) Cheers

you have to be either 16 or 18 (can't remember which) to use it...

It's weird, my account was set up with my dob, i'm 19 and mine doesn't work either.

I think both EMAIL And Xbox live have to set up as over 18.

Well maybe his xboxlive is registered under someone ellses name?

When you sign up with your real DOB it goes by that, if you sign up when you made your email addy after 18 you can use MSN, if you sign up at about 17 using your real DOB it always has you down as 17, on the xbox your age doesn't increase, it stays the same so if you sign up before 18 with real DOB you need to change gamertags to use the MSN

No, only way is to make a new gamertag, microsoft may release a patch for it but who knows

Hey,

As Neil said your age is locked to your gamertag along with your email (So changing the DOB on your email wont work)

As for Microsoft releasing a patch, It was posted on one of the people who works in the Xbox division of Microsoft that a patch would not be released as you gamertag gets locked with your info.

However, MSN on the Xbox isn't even that great, If you have a lot of people on your contacts list its very slow. I don't use it because it is that slow.
