The web has changed very much in the last 10-15 years. It started off with just text e-mails then slowly developed all the way to video streaming on youtube etc.

The internet is a very scary thing. I think soon you will be able to send live video's of yourself. Sort of like adult site were you watch people. But sort of send them to people. And i think it will be so much easier to get information about people. And will be the place for highest about of crime with peadophilia and scams hacks now so will be alot worse in the future. The internet should be very very fast. And the internet should be free.

I agree with Anarchco , The internet / computers will be a more important part of our lives , My guess is that all school will have laptops built into desks and books are no longer needed , they use the laptops for everything :p

It will be more content rich and the content will be of higher quality (videos etc.). Also bandwidth will greatly increase, and hopefully the up-speeds of personal connections will be come much closer to the down-speeds available at the time. Contention ratios will drop (they will need to as people will be wanting more out of their personal connection). It will also become even more user driven (people putting their own things on the web). Optic-fibre should become more readily available to the home user.
I think it will just be our lives really, people won't bother communicating, just typing. It will grow beyond what we can imagine right now, things like automated phone lines will become useless and you will get all the forms on the internet to do it.
It is an intresting question to see where it will be in 20 years time.
obviously faster connections, thats not debateable at all.
but, if im honest i think its going to be a BIG suprise whatever wierd/magical things happen to the www over the comming years.
i think we get this stick where we can put it in to our head and we just live of from it,
i heard about it in the news :)

i dont think it'll take over our lives. people predicted the same thing when television was evolving. what lots of experts predict is that television and internet will eventually merge together.
and it will always be something you don't expect. no one expected something like youtube to explode the way it did. most of the major changes are unpredictable.
I think computers will be very small and slim.Maybe they will have everything on them like "Sky" and you can call people etc.
More than likely we will re-lie on computers to run our life.Maybe even one-day mind controlled computers!
But computers in the future will change are life,maybe even take over the world.Who knows?

I can't see the internet itself developing any further. What will develop are computers and technologies that work along side it. Everything is pretty much possible now with the internet. Teaching is possible, by uploading topics for discussion on learning forums e.g. Moodle which schooles can use to have discussions on certain subjects etc. I doubt exams would be used with in 20 years time, I can see it being pointless because you need that middle man to keep an eye on them, the internet cannot provide it because there is always a way to steal or copy files on the net, but you can't in real life as easily.
EDIT: Why are people talking about the design of computers? Web = Internet. Not computers.
I think you'll be able to connect to the internet with a wirless thiny in your brain and download information such as News, Sport and celebraty Gossip :P

telle phone poles and wires will be cut down and every computer will come with the internet free, but you have to pay a licence for your computer...our lives will in every way be based around it.. places, like parks will get used less and there will be more of a reason for esstate agents to build over them eventualy it will be very rare for us to go out side for sports optionaly, there porbably be more p.e lessons because of this schools will become werse than ever people will of "evolved" into different ways of life and there will be just a few extremists trying to put things back to how they were, People wont need to see people any more so not much need to travel apart from the few jobs that will be away from a computer. people wont even need to go on holiday they can just have a virtual tore with their familys of a place that some one that lives there "records live" as their job.
As dominant as computers get, they wont replace people going outside; tv's didnt do that and almost everyone had a TV..

ACTUALLY THATS AN INVENTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Contact lenses that have a projection on them.. Like little wires comming from them and it reacts to your retina movements..
It will be replaced by a better bigger more efficient future system. Everything from VCR's to DVD's to cars all get replaced with a new different style or model at some point. I don't think the internet will be any different. At some point something bigger and better will take over. :) Its either that or I'll rule it *evil laugh* :P
I would imagine it to be faster. Speed is one of the biggest things that have changed over the years. Back then, it took 5 minutes to load a site, and now if it takes 10 seconds, we are complaining. Technology as I can is advancing very fast. Just 10 years ago, what is today is almost unimaginable. One thing that I would like to see is that it will interact with our senses.

There are still 3 types of ways the web can interact with us, and I think in the future, it would become the norm. People I can see will become more dependant on the internet. More and more people will shop off the net, do their research off the net, and even using the internet work at home, study at home, etc. I imagine in the future, you can basically live without even stepping out of your house.
