My Great Grandfather died this morning of lung cancer.

Thank you for your comments everyone.

I do realise that even if you spend the rest of your life seeing darkness, or just go to heaven, there is always gonna be some sort of peace after life.

I do know that the emotion will hit me soon, and when it does I shall be ready.

My granddad died last night when my granny went to get the death citifacate it said he died of long cancer but it was the wrong one

I'm sorry to hear. On the brighter note, your very lucky to have had and known your Great Grandad, lots of people don't have them or they have died before they grew up...

i only knew one of mine, and hes still alive.

Sorry to hear it mate, I knew both my Great Grandmothers and they both died about 2 years ago. At least if there is a heaven, they'll be with some of their children and their husbands/wives.

Got something really touching to say, which i thought of and it put a tear in my eye when I think of my grandads who are dead. :(

Your grandad has gone to rest in a peaceful place, away from the troubles on the earth today. He is in the most safest place anyone in the world can ever be, and he will always be looking down on those who he loves.

So sorry for your loss. For the first few weeks it'll be hard, I know because my grandfather passed away 3 weeks ago. You just hang in there and sadly that's life, everone will die eventually- no one is eternal. I hope you shall look back on those wondefull memories you had with him and that will last you a lifetime.
