You need to use the formulae
-b +- Square root of b(squared) - 4acSo

11 +- Square root of -11(squared) - 4*5*-7

So
11 +- square root(261)

So
11 +- 16.155494 / 10
x = 2.7155494 OR x= -0.5155494
So to 1DP
X = 2.7 or x = -0.5
