How many pages have you done on your Romeo and Juliet essays so far?
Ive done 12 A4 Pages on my first draft and i'm just tweaking a few bits now.
You?
omg lol, i did 1 page when i did it last year.
Haven't done that yet. Doing gothic literature atm.
our teacher is slow so only just started studying it.
12 a4 pagess????
we've been told not to do as much because the exam board were complaining they were too long.
all i know is i wrote 1253 words on my pre-14 poetry essay.
I've done around 2-3 pages (A4)
Im doing Romeo and Juliet and have come to the part where Lady Capulet enters.. (Act 3, scene 5).
Anyone doing this?
We're doing the creative writing bits first :]
I've nearly done the draft of the Film review.
Romeo and Juliet?
We not done that.
I only did 2 and a half pages of A4 for mine last year and managed to get a B.
Umm,
it's not just english people :S
I did it too, erm. . . . about 5 pages. we had to had 4 at min and maxium 7 so I did okay I guess, got a 2. our grades are different I guess..
12 pages is ridiculous.
Quality not quantity..
I did 2 pages and got an A
Yeah I did 3 or 4 and got an A. To be honest if you write too much the examiner gets bored. At A Level you have word limits and if you get into the habit of writing lots it's really hard to get out of that and you just make the whole situation a pile of crap for yourself!
To be honest 12 pages is a foolish, it doesn't make you look good and if it takes that many pages to get a good grade you may as well give up now - as you don't stand a chance in the exam. If you can still get a good grade with a few pages, then why the hell write 12?!
No it isn't, only took me a few days to do (1st draft)
To include all the points I had to do 12 pages, I would struggle to fit it all into 2 pages.
For all the points I had to write about in the exam I had to do 12 pages, I didn't write 12 pages for the hell of it
When I did it in year 10 I did 2/3 pages.
Its quality not quantity you morons!
I only done 5.
Last year, (because it changes I think) we did Great Expectations. A boy in my year (11) that's doing his A level maths atm, lol did 18 pages in size 12 font, lol.
Madness.
I got an A on that though :). I think I did about 7.
I dont think there is a set limit, but if a essay is just way too long the I would of thought that your teacher would advise you to cut it abit, because the examiner will probably die of bordem when reading it.
Can I ask what your question is for the coursework?
Our question was "How does Shakespeare convince the audience that Romeo and Juliet are truley in love by Act 1, Scene 5" (or Act 5, Scene 1 - or something).
I've done like, one paragraph...
I'm in year 11 and i've just done my Romeo and Juliet coursework.
I did it on Monday night the day after it was due in lol (I know) owell!
Was due in on monday, forgot about it as i lost the sheet, had to do it in lyk 2 hours when i came home from school, but as long as it's ok.
12 pages.... GET A LIFE!!
(I did a character study of the Nurse. we had like 10 q's to chose from) If your c.w is 12 pages, likely the examiner might get JUSTABIT bored...
We're still watching the film, well we're at the end when they both die.
Sigh, i honestly cant be bothered to do this, it sucks..
First The Crucible, now this =/
I haven't done Romeo and Juliet or Shakespeare yet :S
I've done
Media (Compare The Longest Day to Saving Prvate Ryan)
Just finished draft of The Christmas Carol.
Did a few pages on those.
So probably doing something like R & J soon
Im currently doing Sherlock Holmes, the speckled band. Anyone else done this?
Wow, 12 pages is a serious waste of time, I wrote 2 pages and still got an A.
lol omg at the gothic **** that schools do.. man goths or wot
im in year 11, and i did 5 pages on my much ado essay :]
i did 8 pages size 10 font for my english c/wk but my teacher told me it was too long.... :S i think 12's too much tbh but then again so is 8 but i still need to tweak it to get A*, 3 marks off ;/ lolll.
We ish doing it as an oral exam in pairs :)
12 pages seems a bit much :s
Then how come people can write a lot less and still get the same grade? To be honest your teacher is either very stupid or you are lying, it's foolish to write 12 pages. Examiners have hundreds, probably over a thousand papers (or more) to mark and when they come to your 12 pages of fun they are not going to be impressed at all, especially when there are people who wrote ten less and still got in all the points to a satisfactory level.
urrrrrrrm i'mm going to kill a mockingbird atm. We just did a speaking nd listening assesment
on how harper lee creates tension in chapter 6 and got an A on that :]
